Children Matter Forum | Right to a Drug-Free Childhood

WwB’s Founder & Chair Edit Schlaffer and Executive Director Laura Kropiunigg traveled to Kerala, India to present the MotherSchools model at the Children Matter International Forum between 16-18 November 2022. The forum, hosted by Fourth Wave Foundation, UNODC, and the World Federation Against Drugs, brought together key stakeholders from around the world to advocate for children’s ‘right to a drug-free childhood’. At the conference, Dr. Schlaffer received the S.A.F.E – Life-Time Achievement Award 2022, honouring and acknowledging the contributions towards creating S.A.F.E. – Substance Abuse Free Environment for Children and Youth of the world through the implementation of ‘MotherSchools: Parenting for Peace’ Model. While in Kerala, WwB also had the privilege to meet with a MotherSchools group and discuss the impact of the programme on their daily lives.
