“In any sector there are always a select few people who create an outstanding impact through their dedication and work. Lifetime Achievement Awards stands to highlight these individuals and their contributions. For S.A.F.E – Life-Time Achievement Award 2022, we looked at the contributions of individuals who have made a significant impact in work over a sustained period and for a cause they have believed in with a lifestyle that’s lead by example. The other, was for their global impact of working across borders, regions, countries, ethnicities, and geography. It’s never easy to summarise a 30 year-long career in social work in just a few hundred words. We are proud to announce Dr Edith Schlaffer as the recipient of the S.A.F.E – Life-Time Achievement Award 2022 for her tireless commitment to the cause of working with civil societies across the globe true to her vision of gender-based peacebuilding strategies that harness the strength of civil societies. Dr Edith Schlaffer has spent more than 3 decades in the social sector and in response to the growing threat of violent extremism, launched the Sisters Against Violent Extremism (SAVE) network, the world’s first female counter-extremism platform. ‘MotherSchools: Parenting for Peace’ Model of the Women Without Boarders speaks volumes of her belief in mothers as the first line of defence against extremism. This S.A.F.E – Life-Time Achievement Award 2022 by the Fourth Wave Foundation – India is an expression for our appreciation for the key role Dr Edith Schlaffer plays in building competence and confidence of women and mothers to effect positive social change in countries of crisis and transition around the world. This award is dedicated to Dr Edith Schlaffer on behalf of all the children of the world at the forum CHILDREN MATTER – Right to a Drug Free Childhood.”
