‘Journeys Through Darkness’: A Film Presentation by Women without Borders

In order to promote the greater inclusion of women in PVE efforts, Women without Borders (WwB) presented its documentary ‘Journeys through Darkness’, a film which depicts the grief processes of three women whose lives have been affected by violent extremism, at Oxford University on 19 Oct. 2009. the screening, Dr. Edit Schlaffer presented the global SAVE campaign and led a discussion with Hadiya Masieh, a former member of an Islamist group whose story is presented in the film. This meeting was part of WwB’s UK campaign, holding consciousness-raising dialogues across university campuses and within women’s and mothers’ groups on the issue of violent extremism.
