Voices of Resilience: The Women of Afghanistan and the Global Fight for Equality

In the context of International Women’s Day, H.E. Ms. Manizha Bakhtari, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Afghanistan in Vienna, hosted a panel discussion at the Bruno Kreisky Forum to spotlight the situation of women in Afghanistan, whose rights have been profoundly eroded and whose voices have been systematically silenced since the Taliban’s 2021 takeover. The event brought together voices from the ground, from the policy levels, from the international community, and from activists in a powerful show of solidarity. WwB’s founder and chair Edit Schlaffer participated in the panel discussion.
