Peace Begins at Home Summit

Speaker Dr. Edit Schlaffer _ Peace Begins at Home

The Peace Begins at Home Summit was a global virtual event on 29 October 2025, produced by the Center for Partnership Systems and convened by its founder Dr Riane Eisler, a pioneering systems thinker and author. It brought together leading voices from around the world to explore how early patterns of domination shape our systems—and how shifting to partnership at home can build lasting peace. The summit brought together an exceptional line-up, including Ela Gandhi, Scarlett Lewis, Dr Gary Barker, Zainab Salbi, and other inspiring voices from around the world.

Our Founder and Chair, Dr Edit Schlaffer, was a speaker on the Solutions Showcase Panel, presenting WwB’s ‘MotherSchools: Parenting for Peace’ model. She highlighted families as essential peace actors and underscored the need to equip parents with the skills and confidence to safeguard their communities from the bottom up. As she highlighted, ‘We have seen time and time again that families are not the soft side of peace; they are its basis. If we strengthen parents, we strengthen the foundation on which our societies rest. When mothers and fathers find their voice and work together as allies and role models, children find their grounding, and communities reclaim their agency’.

Following the Summit, a Handbook was put together by the organisers, compiling the insights and experiences shared in one place, including WwB’s Parenting for Peace model as a best-practice example.
