‘Learning from Peace: African‐centred Perspectives on Election, Terrorism and Gender’

Women without Borders (WwB) presents its research on the role of fathers in Zanzibar and Uganda in preventing violent extremism (PVE) at the United States Institute of Peace’s ‘Learning from Peace: African-centred Perspectives on Election, Terrorism and Gender And AfSol Journal Inauguration’ conference in Ethiopia. The research examines fathers’ perceptions of their own responsibility in safeguarding their children; their experiences of witnessing radicalisation and/or PVE efforts in their own families; and the barriers they face in being an effective preventative force.
