Expert Roundtable on Women Preventing Extremist Violence

Women without Borders (WwB) Founder and Executive Director Dr. Edit Schlaffer presents the ‘MotherSchools: Parenting for Peace’ Model as a best practice at the ‘Women Preventing Extremist Violence’ pilot project at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. As part of USIP’s Gender and Peacebuilding team, the project is designed to increase women’s agency, influence, and engagement in strengthening community resilience to violent extremism. Through a training programme and facilitated dialogue, USIP’s staff works with in-country partners to bring together female representatives of civil society and the security sector in an exploration of the local drivers of violent extremism, and potential strategies for prevention and improved collaboration.
