On 16 December 2013, Women without Borders (WwB) held a conference, hosted by the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, under the banner: ‘Human and Women’s Rights: The battle of cultural and religious identities in schools and society’. The conference was organised with the support of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research in order to draw attention to the difficulties in harmoniously harnessing diverse new cultural and religious influences and identifying the specific roles that civil society, and more specifically the education system, has to play in ensuring a seamless integration of diverse cultures based on shared values and human rights. A short video was produced, capturing statements and viewpoints of leading Austrian scholars and thinkers who participated in the conference.
