UNESCO’s 2018 World Congress on Justice for Children

Women without Borders (WwB) organises a workshop and presents its ‘MotherSchools: Parenting for Peace’ Model at the 2018 World Congress on Justice for Children ‘Strengthening justice systems for children: Challenges, including disengagement from violent extremism’ workshop in Paris. The World Congress on Justice for Children reviews progress in making the rights of children globally effective and seeks to identify practical approaches to favour disengagement processes. It looks critically at recent research in criminology and neuroscience suggesting that the active participation of children in judicial proceedings is a key to steering them away from extremism and recidivism as well as protecting them from harm. It considers the role of the family a key actor in all interventions affecting children.
