This Open House Talk brings together four panellists from Austria, India, Kosovo and Sweden to discuss how we should be doing more to tackle gender-based violence the world over. Experts in the field of women’s rights, Rosa Logar, Diana Joseph, Brikena Avdyli and Regina Mattsson, join moderator Edit Schlaffer in this urgent yet inspiring conversation. Together they highlight the challenges in eliminating domestic violence in their respective countries and call for urgent measures to ensure a safer and more peaceful future.

Rosa Logar

Co-founder of the first women’s shelter in Austria and of Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE), Rosa is an expert in the fields of women’s and human rights, peace, gender equality, and the prevention of violence against women and domestic violence.

Diana Joseph

Director of Fourth Wave Foundation, Diana started her career in the Development Sector with Action Aid and has over 10 years of experience working with international organisations like UNESCO.

Brikena Avdyli

A gender equality and social inclusion expert from Kosovo, Brikena works with public institutions, local and international organisations, as well as other stakeholders, with a focus on the benefits of diversity and inclusion as a tool for overall development.

Regina Mattsson

As Secretary General of World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD), Regina works actively to promote women’s rights and gender sensitive services in the field. She is a board member of UN Women Sweden and Gender and Development in Practice (GADIP).
