OSCE Power Lunch on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2020

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2020, Women without Borders (WwB) Founder and Executive Director Dr. Edit Schlaffer participates in the OSCE Power Lunch to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the 20th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security. Moderated by Ambassador Natasha Cayer, Permanent Representative of Canada to the OSCE, the discussion was an intergenerational exchange and focused on what has changed in the past 20 years in achieving gender equality, particularly in the context of comprehensive security. Dr Schlaffer reflected on the nearly 2 decades of work she has led at Women without Borders and through the SAVE Network, highlighting progress but also calling upon decision makers and other stakeholders to invest in building up and strengthening female leadership capacity.
